Where to Pick Up an Angel

For over 30 years, sponsors like you have provided Christmas miracles to Humphreys County Angels.

I’d like to be
a sponsor!
I want to apply to
be an angel!

Being a sponsor is…

Fun for Businesses and Families

Give your employees or family the uniting and fulfilling experience of giving to others. You may sponsor just one child up to as many as you’d like!

A Rewarding Experience

You may know what it’s like to be without, or want your employees or children to understand a taste of it. Blessing others by becoming a sponsor is a great opportunity!

The Right Thing to Do

Helping others in need is our must fundamental job, especially for children and seniors with families who are struggling during the holidays.

Sponsor Questions

We normally have the Angels on the trees the Monday before Thanksgiving.

It is entirely up to you as to how much you spend on your angel.

We would prefer that the presents for the children are not wrapped. You can include wrapping paper and tape with your gifts. You can leave the price tags on the gifts, but mark through the bar code, so the gifts can be exchanged but not returned.

The presents need to be returned to Angel’s Project, 113 S Clydeton Rd., Waverly, TN 37185, behind the new Region’s Bank. Please make sure the Angel number is on each gift/bag. The Angel tag will have the dates the gifts need to be returned to HAP.

Program Questions

First, you must be a Humphreys County resident. We help children from birth until age 18 (if still in school). Seniors over 60 years of age must have a financial need for assistance. Starting 2019, all applicants must show proof of income.

You will need to bring proof of residency, proof of income, birth certificates for each child, and a photo ID. Come to our office during signups, call us at 931-209-9430, or send us a message through Facebook Messenger to make other arrangements. Please make sure you know clothing and shoe sizes for each child/senior. Also provide a “Christmas Wish List” of something the child/senior really wants for Christmas.

Come to our office and fill out an application. These Angel’s acceptance are decided on an individual basis.

Angel Questions

You must be a Humphreys County resident. We help children from birth to 18 years of age (if still in school) and seniors 60 and over with financial need.

You must bring a photo ID. We will need a birth certificate for each child. If you have legal custody of a child, we will need to see the court document declaring guardianship. You must also show proof of Humphreys County residency, such as mail showing your current address (utility/water bill, etc.). Must also show financial need for the program, such as being a recipient of food stamps, other government assistance, or a current bank statement.

We normally do sign-ups the first part of November. Please see our important dates above.

After program signups, all applications will be reviewed by our board and you will be contacted by phone if your application was not accepted.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes. Please contact our office at 931-209-9430, e-mail us at holidayassistanceprogram@gmail.com or send a message through Facebook Messenger and give us the new information. You must provide us with 2 working phone numbers.

If you have been sponsored by one of our business sponsors, your gifts may be delivered to your home. The sponsor will contact you with a delivery date and time. If you are sponsored by an individual, you will pick up your gifts at our office at 113 S Clydeton Rd., Waverly, TN 37185, behind the new Region’s Bank. You will be contacted to pick up your gifts as soon as we have all your gifts returned. Please do not come to pick up gifts until you have been contacted.

You should receive a phone call from us that your gifts are ready and at our office. Please do not come to pickup your gifts until you have received a call from us.

No, you can only receive assistance from one program each year. We work closely with the other assistance programs in the county and compare lists. If we find you are receiving assistance from one of the other programs, you will be contacted and removed from our program.
